Abortion on Demand vs Menstrual Regulation and the Morning After Pill.
Notelovitz was a co-chair and co author of the Proceedings of a National symposium on Abortion in the South African Context .
In his formal presentation – Abortion Reform and Responsible Cohabitation – he referred to the process of menstrual regulation and proposed a method of inducing menstruation days after a missed period. This was later developed into the “morning after pill’ and now freely available.
He also emphasized the importance of sex education and contraceptive advice ,plus the need to take advantage of freely available and safe oral contraceptives , as the primary approach to unwanted pregnancies.( abstract of the relevant article included)
